Day 161: Bad Bunny – DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS
It’s Super Bowl Sunday, or to all my fellow ladies who must watch it to be supportive partners, it’s Bad Bunny Concert Evening. I’m going for his most recent album which I did listen to last year but only once, and since the majority of the setlist will probably be from that one, I though I’d give it another go.

I can remember exactly where I was the last time I heard it: it was January , maybe early February in 2025, I was out driving to a cabin in the Scottish Highlands and we were nearing my favourite place in the world, Glencoe – if you take nothing else away from my blog, please do take my recommendation that Glencoe is one of the nicest drives in the world and you really should go tootling around that area, if at all possible. But last time I heard it was around snowy mountains, tonight it’s more of a party atmosphere, so let’s see if I get anything new out of it.
Bad Bunny is a world renowned Puerto Rican singer/rapper/producer with an impressive amount of accolades under his belt: he’s got six Grammys, seventeen Latin Grammys, eight Billboard Music Awards, and thirteen Lo Nuestro Awards, and he was the most streamed artist in the world in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2025. Fun fact, he’s also a huge wrestling fan who’s appeared on WWE a fair few times, and he’s a one-time WWE 24/7 Champion.
Bad Bunny’s real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio and he’s the son of a truck driver and schoolteacher, hailing from a town in Puerto Rico called Vega Baja. Before he got his big break, he was working at a supermarket bagging groceries part-time while uploading his songs into Soundcloud, where he got discovered by a Puerto Rican producer, DJ Luian. Since then, Bad Bunny has been popularising Latin rap worldwide, managing to break the global market in a way that we probably haven’t ever seen before.
Debí Tirar Más Fotos is Bad Bunny’s most recent album that came out on January 5th, 2025. It was the top of many lists of albums of the year, including Billboard, Rolling Stone, Harper’s Bazaar and Complex. It had twelve nominations and five wins at the Latin Grammy’s, as well as six nominations and three wins at the Grammy’s. It was also the first Spanish-speaking album to win Album of the Year.
His choice as Super Bowl Halftime Show performer has also invoked record amounts of crying and stomping of feet from people who are scared of languages other than English, but he just doesn’t seem to be the sort of guy who’s particularly bothered by that. For those offended, there’s been an alternative Christian Super Bowl Halftime Show set up with a performance from modern global superstar Kid Rock, which I have to give it to them, will surely at the very least be funny.
Listening to Debí Tirar Más Fotos, I genuinely don’t know any single reason why anyone wouldn’t think seeing this guy do a Super Bowl Halftime Show won’t be a damn good time. It’s just worth every single accolade it has received. I teared up the first time I heard “DTMF” without even knowing what the lyrics mean, doubly so when I read them and put my finest Duolingo skills to use. They are still not fine, by the way, and I say that with a 744 day streak. I’m not a big reggaeton person in general, but I just love this album to bits.
This is unfortunately the best you’ll get from me today, I’ve had Fireball. Debí Tirar Más Fotos is a 9.5/10.
